I still haven't gotten around to writing the formulas to derive fair market odds. My first attempt at it made Excel drop dead. I need to learn some better software. Anyway, here's Lunardi's updated bracket with what Kenpom (approximately) would say about it. Same caveats as last time.

we can start applying HCA to our simulations - talk to you more about this tomorrow:
ReplyDeleteWho can't go where? Boston College (East), Arizona State (West), Butler (Midwest), and Memphis (South) cannot be placed in their respective regions if they qualify or are selected for the 2009 NCAA field. Each school is hosting a regional final this year. Saint Joseph's (Philadelphia), Oregon (Portland), Boise State (Boise), Dayton (Dayton), Florida International (Miami), and Minnesota (Minneapolis) are subregional hosts and would also be bracketed away from their respective sites.
Yeah, bleh, I can't think of a neat way to do that with the matrix I'm using. It's going to be ad hoc probably.
